We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of specialist earthworks materials. You’ll be responsible for machine and equipment setup, monitoring, and quality checks, keeping production running smoothly while meeting safety and quality standards. This is a site-based, client-facing position, embedded within client projects, where the successful candidate will operate in live construction environments, act as Ecofill’s on-site representative, and liaise confidently with site teams at all levels.

The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-focused, and has strong practical plant experience, with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Process Management

• Lead daily production to achieve outputs within quality specifications and schedules.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust machinery and equipment in line with standard operating procedures.
• Conduct safety checks and monitor material conditions throughout the production process.
• Maintain production records and reports for management and clients.
• Solve production challenges efficiently and safely.
• Represent Ecofill professionally on site.
• Communicate effectively with clients and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Operate and load screening and processing machinery safely and efficiently.
• Use excavators and associated plant to feed and manage material flow through production equipment.
• Monitor screening performance, adjust feed rates and ensure optimal output quality.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, risk assessments, and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of quality control and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Work with maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Practical understanding of machine operations, production processes, and basic PID/PLC interactions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Competent in health & safety practices, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Ability to compile and present production records and performance data.
• Proven experience operating excavators and loading plant within construction or earthworks environments.
• Valid CPCS or NPORS certification for excavator operation (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Demonstrable experience working with screening or material processing equipment.
• Strong understanding of safe plant operation and on-site plant logistics.
• Full UK driver’s licence and flexibility to travel between sites

Desirable Qualifications & Attributes

• Vocational qualifications in plant operations, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
• IOSH Working Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent health & safety accreditation.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems or production data software.
• Knowledge of lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in construction or earthworks production environments.

Physical & Operational Requirements

• Comfortable working in industrial environments, including outdoor exposure.
• Able to undertake physical tasks and prolonged standing.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and operational demands.
