'The Creation Of A Thousand Forests Is In One Acorn'
The 27th of November till the 5th of December is National Tree Week, which is the UK’s largest annual tree celebration. The event first started in 1975 after being set up by ‘The Green Council’ a charity which works both nationally and locally. They believe they can bring people together with a shared mission to care for trees and our planet’s future. The event takes place annually to help ‘grow a greener future’ as well as keep the conversation going on climate change. It is estimated that 46% of the world’s forests are already destroyed. This event comes after COP26 where 137 world leaders have pledged ‘to halt and reverse forest loss and land degradation by 2030’ Since the charity first started the Queen, several Prime Ministers, and environmentalists have gotten involved to help The Tree Council in their efforts. ‘The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn’ Ralph Waldo Emerson, an American lecturer and philosopher once said. This poignant quote is a message to us all that something small can be transformed into something big. People can get involved with the event by donating as little as £15 to plant a tree and provide aftercare. The Ecofill solution inherently reduces harmful Co2 emissions and aims to significantly reduce the construction industry’s carbon footprint and we are proud to be showing our support for the week-long event. Our marketing team produced a short video in support which can be viewed below.
